If you’ve ever used Outlook, you’ll be right at home with Essential PIM, a desktop productivity app with an interface that closely mimics the Microsoft program. A big difference, of course, is that Essential PIM is free (a pro version adds a few more features). Another big difference is that there’s no e-mail client built in. But if you need a free program that can handle your calendar, to-do list and other basic organizational tasks, EPIM looks hard to beat. There’s even a portable version to put on your USB drive, something you’re certainly not going to find in any version of Outlook.
